Twyford, has three houses with  History. Twyford House where Benjamin Franklin wrote his autobiography.  Seager's Buildings, a beautiful house in a quiet corner. Brambridge House framed by its avenue of Lime Trees (pollarded for gun-stocks during napoleon's day). With the River Itchen flowing by. It is believed it was here in an earlier house that The Prince of Wales (later George the Fourth) married Mrs Fitz Herbert.

Twyford and Shawford are in the City of Winchester, Hampshire, England. SO21.

Shawford is notable for having the longest railway viaduct in Hampshire (now known as Hockley Railway Viaduct). This is over 2,000 feet  in length and 40 feet high. Most impressive and clearly visible.
